Golden Futures was founded in 2007, after a pair of university students came back from volunteering in Cambodia and decided to do something to ensure the children they had been working for in Cambodia had a future outside the orphanage.
We now work with several organisations in Cambodia, designing and funding projects to give orphaned, vulnerable and disadvantaged Cambodian children the support they need to get a fair chance in life. Our projects give advice, support, mentoring and financial support to ensure that a childhood in care doesn't lead to a life on the streets, and a childhood in poverty doesn't lead to a life in a sweatshop.
We are very proud of the support we provide through our loan-scholarships, which ask for the beneficiary to give something back during and once they have completed their study. This encourages confidence, self-reliance and a positive, ambitious attitude whilst showing that helping others is everyone's responsibility. This system allows each donation to be put to work again and again, and so much more good can be done with the same amount of money.
We are a UK registered charity, monitored by the Charity Commission - Registered Charity No. 1140771, HMRC reference XT805

Founded in 2007, we have worked over this time to give disadvantaged young Cambodians the opportunity to brighten their futures.
A UK registered charity, we work with local Cambodian organisations to deliver a number of projects, all related to our core value of ensuring that deprivation and disadvantage in childhood does not automatically lead to poverty in adulthood.
Our projects include the Golden Futures University Loans programme, through which we have supported over 20 young Cambodians in accessing higher education, the Careers Support programme, through which disadvantaged children get the support they need to take the first steps in developing their future, and the University Guide project, which collates, translates and makes available key information on the universities in Phnom Penh, so that young people can make informed decisions about their futures.
We are a lean and efficient charity. All Golden Futures administration and fund-raising is carried out by the trustees or volunteers and is unpaid, and we keep UK costs to a minimum so that we can spend as much as possible on supporting projects in Cambodia. Full details of how your donations are spent every year is available on the Documents and Reports page.

We wouldn't be able to achieve much without the help of our friends in Cambodia, who use the funds we raise to run projects on our behalf. Golden Futures works with several organisations in Cambodia and in Europe. These include:
New Future for Children
Stichting Dom-Ray - The Midway House
Stichting Dom-Ray - Countryside Education Project
